Double digits

Tomorrow will be the 10th straight election at which I'll be at the polls talking with voters about some sort of issue related to gay and lesbian (or LGBT, if you know the lingo) rights.

I'm not looking forward to getting up at 5 in the morning.  I may be a little burnt out after spending so much of my 2003 working on this, and so much of 2004 trying to persuade others in the movement to run effective campaigns.

Our crushing statewide defeat on Issue 1 last November has made that last part easier (people are now looking to learn from the successful local campaigns, most notably ours and Cincinnati's).  So we've made some progress toward getting other organizations to sign on in support of our efforts.  But I think I personally am going to need some time to recover.  After all, I burnt out on activism and organizing in 1994-95 and it really took until 2002 for me to lift a finger again ...
